戶政事務所統計，台灣讓子女從母姓的比例只有1％左右；不過異國婚姻子女從母姓的比例高達23％，願意讓子女從母姓的外籍父親多為歐美籍，若父親為亞洲國籍，子女從父姓的比例還是比較高。
